Amapola Creek Vineyards consists of 100 acres along the sun-washed western slope of the Mayacamas Mountains adjacent to the highly-acclaimed Monte Rosso Vineyard. These red, iron-oxide soils have yielded superb wines for well over a century. Sourced from a tiny block on our estate, our Petite Sirah vines represent winemaster Richard Arrowood's “private stock,” allowing him to product a uniquely delicate yet distinctive wine.

About the 2019 Petite Sirah:
The wine opens with an enticing aroma of intense blueberry fruit, balanced by subtle hints of camphor, followed by notes of blackberry liqueur, licorice, and incense. On the palate, the dense and rich berry character is interwoven with intriguing layers of spice and pepper, complemented by the characteristic acidity and tannin structure that Petite Sirah is known for. What sets this wine apart is its exceptional balance. The tannins, while robust, are also round, firm, and elegantly smooth, adding a luxurious texture to the wine. The acidity, on the other hand, is intense but skillfully integrated, perfectly harmonizing the wine's body and depth of flavor.
